“I don't wanna wait in vain for your love.
It's your love what I'm waiting on
It's my love that you're running from”
-- Bob Marley,
Waiting in Vain
Hopeless. That’s the best word to describe a person’s lingering for someone who could never be his/hers. Most of the time, a man or a woman becomes hopeless for love because the heart of his/her love belongs to someone else. But, there’s such an unusual instance that’s even more hopeless: when a man couldn’t yet love a woman or a woman couldn’t yet love a man. This isn’t because he is gay or she is a lesbian. This is simply because they’re not into it (to put in Filipino Terms: ‘wala silang hilig’).
Yeah! There are people who are simply not into it. It’s not that they don’t want to love or they hate the opposite sex. They are not merely interested to have an object of affection more than their family, friends, and self. A beautiful/handsome, intelligent, gorgeous person would attract them but would never be an object of their passion or love. They know how to appreciate looks and wits but that’s all. To have a crush on someone is fine, but to cross that line never comes to his or her mind (not now).
These people are those who simply want to enjoy life. They very much enjoy their life-style. They have all the time in the world to improve one’s self ßboost their careers, have their own businesses, study-study-and-study, all the time and money to share to his/her family, all the moments to share with his/her friends, and all the energy to give for this motherland. They don’t feel the urge of getting married or even the urge to have a boyfriend/girlfriend. However, this doesn’t mean they want to be alone eternally. This also doesn’t mean that they’ve never pictured themselves having their own family. They are just not in a hurry for self-fulfillment doesn’t require a romantic partner…
I know some people who are like this. And I truly admire them. For one, I’m quite like them. =)
My policy: "Logic Over Emotions First!"
If you are currently feeling something romantic for this type of person, you’re trying to walk for impossibilities. There are a lot of things in store for you. Heck, don’t waste your time with people like us. A lot of better people are in store for you. Please don’t wait in vain!!!
