It may not help the drivers to concentrate.
Further, the MMDA received reports of accidents because the jeepney driver failed to hear another vehicle’s warning signal.
"The report said passengers complained that, most of the time, drivers fail to drop them at their destination because of the loud sound from the radio. There were also times that the driver speeds off even before a passenger could step out of the vehicle."
But the second justification is not applicable to all. Most of the jeeps with loud sounds are "pull-the-string-to-stop capable". Often, it's the fault of the passenger why he/she misses his/her stop (they keep on shouting "para" even if there's a note to pull the string to stop).
Personally, I don't like the idea that they had to confiscate the radio and speakers pa. To regulate is the key. Pwede pa rin namang magpatugtog dapat. Pero ang dapat ipagbawal eh iyong sobrang maingay na pagpapatugtog. Magkaiba iyon.

Now we go to Bayani. Well, something's really wrong with you. What made you think that changing your picture in your tarpaulins along EDSA would make the protesters like you? You know that it's not your unsympathetic face that people are protesting of. YOU ARE USING PUBLIC FUNDS FOR YOUR PUBLICITY AND YOU KNOW THAT.

they can't confiscate the equipment because they were not clothed with police power by the congress
