Grounded on Responsibility

Ay, Lola na naman si Lalah...

So my niece to a cousin is again pregnant. She's just 19 years old. Apparently, she hasn't finished her studies yet therefore isn't capable of getting good job to feed her family. Her boyfriend is just of the same age, working but still the money isn't enough to raise a family. They are not from a well-off family which is why raising a kid is a problem (they don't even know where to get money to buy milk for the baby). And I just don't get it why there's another baby coming.

Sex Education shouldn't just be about teaching kids not to have sex (that sex is bad outside marriage blah, blah) but it should rather be about realistic approach in teaching the concept that is premised on the ideas of responsibility and respect(self-respect and respect of others). That I guess is more realistic and real values education. Nah, it's not about encouraging teens to venture into sex but it's about educating them of their responsibilities once they do the act. So if they are curious of trying, they know what's going to happen and be responsible for that.

Here are some students petitioning against Frenzy Condom commercials.

"What we expect are commercials that can give good values so that we can learn more. We have to bear on our minds that we need to be a good example to youth so that in the future, they will be more responsible and a good example to the next generation."

But there are also values communicated in the advertisement, I guess. Probably, there's a need to be more cautious as to when such should be aired to avoid sending wrongly interpreted ideas to teens, right?
