Sunday Afternoon Observations in a Mall

I’m here at Nacho Fast. Just finished checking my mail (yeah, my connection at home isn’t working). Was supposed to watch a movie but Beowulf isn’t on yet (provincial). There’s ’30 Days of Night’ but the line to the ticket booth is just so long. Anyway, Sam Concepcion’s songs keep on playing (Nacho Fast happens to be located above the Entertainment Plaza). He’s having a promo tour in a while. I just realized that it’s quite a bad timing for the kid to be launched (to have an album for that matter). Man, he’s in the developing stage (adolescent). His voice doesn’t sound too good for now– manipis at nagbibinata. But it’s just me (not part of his audience I believe). He’s here now and young girls are crazily screaming due to giddiness. But then, this is still a province. Any celebrity is a celebrity.

Meanwhile, I just saw a couple with their less than 5-month old baby. I really don’t get it why a lot of parents would bring their babies in a mall. You could get your baby a dress even without fitting it, right? And what pleasure can these babies get from malling? Family thing? Hmm, I still don’t get it. At saka… Una, ano kayang mga sakit ang pwedeng makuha ng anak ninyo so mall? Naiirita lang talaga ako sa magulang na ganun. Parang di nag-iisip. Pangalawa, mahirap magbuhat ng baby (dahil iyong nakita ko walang dalang stroller and I don’t know if pwede nang ilagay sa stroller ang ganung baby).

One advantage of staying in a quite provincial place with an SM and a National Bookstore (lahat naman ata ng SM ay may Nat’l) is the lesser number of people looking for bargain books. It’s been a while since the last time I checked on the bargain stuff here. I feel so lucky that I got a copy of ‘Positioning’ (hinintay ko talagang mag-sale ito) at 50% off; it’s cheap at P529.50.

Ano’ng meron sa “Where’s the light?”

Why is it that one of the first things parents teach to their kids is to learn where the light is?

Positioning: I hope it's the annotated version. I got mine in paperback for P50, which was cheap even back in college.

Nah. Akala ko naman winner na ako. Anyway, I badly need the book (and it's very useful naman).
