Iyong isa po candidate for DL."
It was my first time to teach (in college) and I failed 12 students. Well, they failed because they plagiarized. Aside from that, they didn't do well in the other requirements (e.g. midterms and final oral exams). There's no way for me to do some magic to adjust their grades. Of course, I was a bit hesitant (at first) about failing these kids. I asked for my friends' opinions and they think it is just right to fail these students since it's the consequence of their actions.
It's just irritating to receive this kind of text message (in the midst of a very hectic and "sabog" day). It's for the simple reason that it defeats the idea of being recognized.
In the first place, he knows that he's a candidate for the DL and why in the world did he plagiarize? Not just that. How come he didn't perform well in class? If he's really serious about getting recognized, he should've worked hard for it.
Nakakalungkot.
So ngayon isa akong malaking hadlang sa pangarap niyang maging honor.

honor is conferred and not something you bargain for. tama lang iyon, walang awa na kung walang awa but the responsibility to have a decent grade is upon the students. having a "terror" prof works because the students are too terrified to come in class unprepared
tama lang iyon. at the end of the day, it's for the benefit of the student. do not compromise the future of the student. it defeats the purpose of going to school, learning, growing...
Yeah guys, thanks for the affirmation.
Actually, with that decision, mas naawa pa nga ako sa kanila eh. You can never let your student pass because naawa ka eh. Iyan ang kaso sa mga public schools (both college and high school) eh, dahil sa dami ng estudyante, sinasabihan daw iyong mga teachers na huwag mambagsak. Ayun, the students end up lacking the necessary knowledge and skills for college.
