Who told you so?

So my sister is finally “out” now. There were different reactions from our relatives (when we met during the ‘Undas’). While I was trying to help her make the revelation run smoothly (by making comic scenes and giving punch lines), it didn’t work for some. Of course, negative reactions were at peak. I know they are unavoidable but there are just some reactions that made my blood boiled. Honestly, it’s still hard to imagine having a sister, now turned brother (as she’s a butcher type, a la Aiza) but it is something we have to accept because it’s her nature. I just don’t understand other people judging my sister in a very mean way. Minsan, gusto mo na lang silang awayin (not just for my sister but for the sangkabaklaan at sangkatomboyan).

Pastor Cousin: That’s a no-no (referring to homosexuality). That’s a sin.

Me: What? (In my head: Sin mo’ng mukha mo)

Pastor Cousin: It’s a sickness. Homosexuality is a disease.

Me: Like haller? Ano’ng pinagsasabi mo? It’s not. It’s nature. It’s about genetics. There’s a scientific explanation (at least in the process) on homosexuality. (In my head: Upakan ko kaya ito?)

Pastor Cousin: It can be healed.

Me: (In my head: Hanap ka ng ibang kausap).

How will you consider an act as a sin? What is your basis, the Bible?

Personally, an act can be sinful if you do it at the expense of another. For example, you want to be great and end up killing or ruining another person’s life. An act can be sinful if it is something inhumane. So where’s the atrocity in homosexuality? Homosexuality isn’t a sin.

Homosexuality is not a disease either. It's not viral not even bacterial.

It has something to do with GENETICS.

[To be Continued, I'm gathering articles on this topic and relate it with my sister's case.]

He should make up his mind; it's either a sin or a disease. You can't blame someone for having a disease, right? Literally, hindi nya kasalanang may sakit siya.

Of course, it's not a disease. As for sin, any god who creates flawed beings then blames them for it is a poor excuse for a supreme being.

missingpoints: Yes, he's unsure of his arguments.Contradicting. I guess, he simply wants to convey the thought that homosexuality is wrong so he ended using different points that he may relate to his claim even if they're incoherent (basta masabing masama). He wants us to agree that since it's a sickness, it can be healed with the help of the "Almight Father" nila (pagbabalik loob ang drama, ergo, acceptance na kasalanan ito). But as if mababago iyong nature ng mga homo. Yung mga homo na nagpakalalaki o nagpakababae, hindi lang naman nila prinapractice ang homosexual lifestyle. But I'd like to believe that the attraction is still towards the same sex.

I hate arguing about religious belief. People like my cousin have the tendency to impose as if they possess all the goodness on earth. I just hope they consider the scientific explanations about homosexuality. Oh well.

potchipotch: Well, it's something you've to accept as there's no other way right? As if walang baklang pari/pastor o kaya'y tomboy na madre. Naku nagiging biyatch na ako!
