So it seems that some coffee shops are afraid of losing clients on Christmas Season because of Starbucks's Planner Promo. Heck, Seattle's Best and Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf have also launched a similar promo - collect stickers and get a gift.
Gift Pack from Seattle's seems more appealing. When you're able to collect 20 stickers (I think), you can get a gift pack that has a mug, a planner, and a pen holder (if I'm not mistaken) placed in a silver canister (two more inclusions I forgot). Uniform of Seattle's Best baristas says something like, "Why settle for planner if you can get more." The problem though is that Seattle's products aren't as good as Starbucks's. Not to mention their Christmas Drinks aren't that enticing too.
Meanwhile, CBTL's gift is quite modest - a notebook (But for someone who's in love with notebooks and chai latte, this is a good treat).Of course, the required number of stickers to collect isn't that much too (less than 12 I think).
Getting any of these promo gift packs is not something that I would intentionally pursue (as in kakaririn). But if you happen to be someone spending most of his/her time in a coffe shop (for meetings or moments of silence), you might as well keep those promo cards with you.
So what's the coffee shop for you?
P.S.
Does this explain the pretty few people at Gloria Jeans (Cubao)? They don't have any promo. I was craving for Starbucks ‘s Peppermint Mocha (as always) but both Starbucks outlet in Araneta Cubao (inside Gateway and that one around the Coliseum) were full. Even CBTL was also crowded. So I ended up getting a hot white chocolate at GJC. Not bad. And I just realized, free Wi-Fi pala sa Araneta, winner.
