Because I'm lucky (this time), I got 2 free tickets to the September 21, 8pm staging (c/o Mr. Marasigan thru Gibbs Cadiz). Any friend who'd like to take the other ticket? Just let me know. Of course, blog about it too (if you have the time).
Hope I can make the coming weekend a theater weekend (crossing my finger to get that remaining Avenue Q ticket - as in one and only - for the 23rd . Loser. I'm now waiting for someone to cancel his/her reservation. It sucks to be me! ) .

“MULAN”: TANGHALANG PILIPINO’S NEW CHILDREN’S MUSICAL
(From TP yahoogroup)
“MULAN”, the newest original children’s musical to hit the stage, is set to open on September 14 as part of Tanghalang Pilipino’s 21st season.
Based on the famous Chinese poem “The Ballad of Mulan”, this stage version tells of the exciting adventures of Hua Mulan, the young woman who joined an all-male army to fight for the honor of her family and her country.
A perfect treat for children and the young-at-heart, “MULAN” will delight audiences of all ages with its whimsical set and colorful costumes created by New York-trained designer Gino Gonzales; breathtaking martial arts movements fused with graceful dances by premier dance artist Denisa Reyes; the colorful play of lights by noted lighting designer Jonjon Villareal; and the delightful touch of character make-up by multi-awarded designer Dennis Tan.
The libretto by Palanca award-winning playwright Rody Vera together with Jed Caballero Balsamo’s music and the skillful performance of the Tanghalang Pilipino Actors’ Company all combine to make for an entertaining and heartwarming production under the masterful direction of Dennis Marasigan.
“MULAN” runs September 14-16, 21-23, 28-30 and October 5-7 at the CCp Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino. It is supported by Japan Foundation, HBC, Flowerline, artonedesign, Maggi and radio partners Jam 88.3, Wave 89.1, Magic 89.9, 99.5 RT and Heart 103.5.
