...(Gago!)
I had a discussion with a group of public school teachers (and a principal) this afternoon. I've mentioned to them that I've a pending application in one of the public colleges in our province. However, there's a big chance that I won't make it since the school requires new teachers to have at least 18 Master's Degree units. Alas, I've only completed 12 M.A. units and 9 Education units.
The other teacher said that it's still possible for me to be accepted in the college. If the school administrators think I'm qualified to teach, I can come up with an agreement that should they hire me, I'll finish my studies. That suggestion is very much acceptable. This is a common agreement in the academe.
But the suggestion of a public school principal ruined my day. I didn't expect these words to come from a supposed agent of change.
No appearance. Pwede namang 2-gives ang bayad dun."
I was trembling in anger but I felt so helpless. I couldn't even counter what he said with the fear that I might offend him. I wanted to tell him how unfair, unacceptable, and wrong his perspective was. All I was able to give was a 'deadmatic' face - as if he didn't suggest anything. If it was somebody else, I could have been me. But he was a former superior of my aunt. Confronting him might cause my aunt.
I'm so bothered.
Education is the basic tool to help this nation progress. The same people we consider as "agent of change" are the same people who contribute to the nation's damage. I'm not all-good and all-knowing. I believe everyone has come up with a decision that may be against our principles. We may have come up with a decision that is unfair and unacceptable. But encouraging other people to do the same unjust decision makes you a real problem.
People should aspire for higher studies not just to increase salary or be promoted. It's about learning more things to improve and be able to share more to other people. Especially if you're an educator, the inspiration to finish graduate school shouldn't be merely about promotion, you should be thinking of the benefit of your students as well (Kaya ka nga Teacher!). Learning never stops in the same manner that Knowledge-Sharing should also be a perennial venture.
I want to ask the Principal, "So, gusto mong matutunan ng mga estudyante mo kung paano mandaya at manlamang ng kapwa?

I don't get it either. I understand taking your MA in a university that is less than top-notch (para mas madali). But to actually skip it? You need the knowledge to teach, right?
This is the same reasoning behind providing cheat sheets for driver's license exams.
Exactly.
When I applied for my Driver's License, I didn't pay for fixers, but the testing officer still answered the first part of the test for me.
Kalakohan talaga.
Panalo,yabang:P Haha!
Teka, ibig sabihin SOP talaga iyong kodigo? Malamang di ka rin nagbayad for fixer.
