Is it because of my Zodiac Sign?

Friend: "Ganyan ata kayong mga Leo, mahilig sa politics, pero mga KJ."

*****

Kill Joy. Most people I know would label me KJ. Fine, because I'm really KJ. That's probably because of my different perspective of having fun and spending my free time. It's just weird to meet other people with the same Zodiac Sign who are also labeled as KJ.

I'm not really that person who believes in Zodiac Sign personality description. Regardless of Zodiac Sign, there are people who happen to have similar interests, attitude, and probably character. I think it has something to do with the environment. It just so happens that we've similar life perspectives probably because of similar "learnings" and experiences. It is also possible that there's a similarity with the way we look at these experiences and the way we analyze things.

There are people who'd rather stay at home, spend time watching TV/DVD or reading books, than to attend a party or go other places. People like us find serenity at home (inside the room or in front of the computer). But there are times that we also like to be one with the rest of the world. Even KJ like us also yearn for loud music, fun and games, or whatnots to satisfy our need for interaction (the need for social life). It so happens that we often prefer being alone or staying at home (or in other places with less people and noise).

It's one thing to stereotype based on race, class, or gender; there is some basis to that. But to generalize based on the month one is born just sounds stupid.

Although, back when I was in the SC, a lot of us celebrated our birthdays in August. Hmmm... Not sure if it was statistically significant, though.

Assuming it was statistically significant, it really seems impossible to have a theoretical framework that could back up the stats. Hehe, stupid nga. Nakakatuwa lang tignan iyong birth month/zodiac as "common denominator".

^ Self-fulfilling prophecy. Since Leo's are almost always described as "born leaders," they start behaving as such.

Kahit statistically significant, ang problema diyan ay yung pagkakaroon ng double blind, randomized sample.
