Imelda Marcos is coming up with her own line of fashion accessories. I must admit that the sample designs shown on TV were really beautiful and elegant. Well, she's Imelda and she has an eye for "fashion."
During her interview, she really unleashed the Imelda in her. I thought that the publicity of her fashion accessories will be geared in a sort of social responsibility thing. I thought some percentage of her earnings would probably go into some civic organization.
She tried to look socially responsible during her interview saying that they have affordable beautiful fashion accessories. Actually, not bad for semi-precious stones because her items are priced from 800 up.
This is the bad thing though:
She said, "At least, kahit mahirap makakapagsuot ng maganda."
Putangina! Argh, that only goes to show how the Marcoses look at poor Filipino people.
If you're poor, would you spend 800 pesos for fashion accessories? Where the fuck are you going to use that fashion accesssories? Doesn't Imelda Marcos know that poor people in this country do not even earn 800 pesos per day? Doesn't she know that 800 pesos for most people will mean riches already?

Naiinis lang talaga ako. Kasi naman, after that interview I watched Reporter's Notebook feature on Manog-Balas.
