Spend My Life

Let's be mushy this time – as a result of watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I’m glad that I was able to finish and rehash this article.)

********

It's quite amazing how other people easily fall in love. It's even more amazing how other people manage to fall in love over and over to different people.

I don't really buy the idea of loving a person you have just met or you just find interesting. That's why I hate hearing people saying, "Mahal ko na siya" especially if they've known the person for just a short time (let's say, a month or two).

Of course, I wouldn't really know how they feel. But then, love is a feeling that needs investment.

Love is not something like a "spur of the moment" thing. I'd rather hear people saying, I am interested to invest emotions and eventually fall in love with that person.

It's easy to find (easy nga ba?) good looking people. You can also find people who share the same interests as yours. But, it isn't easy to find that person whom you've feel you'd spend your life with forever.

I guess, many marriages fail because a lot of people who are bound of the "he/she's the one notion". Eventually, each party realizes that he/she's not the one after all (after a long-long time and after having several kids).

You can’t simply fall for a person because he/she is good looking or intelligent. You can’t just love (romantic) a person because you share the same interests. You can’t fall for a person because you need to. Having a relationship goes beyond having a companion and going along with trend.
