Everyone has the right to express their opinion and share their knowledge to anyone (freedom of speech ika nga). I don't appreciate but I am amazed of the "religious guys" doing bus-to-bus in order to "spread the word of God." Such reminds me of our efforts during the campaign, trying to influence everyone to believe us (but that's another thing though).
For someone who has a quite different perspective of "God" and religion, it's quite bothering to be encountering these people.
I’ve encountered a religious guy preaching “God’s word” one day on my way home. He said that he wasn’t going to ask for any monetary assistance as it was just his initiative to share the “word of God”.
The man has shared a lot about his life. He tried to convince the passengers that with Jesus Miracle Crusade one's life will be better -- more blessed. He said that becoming a member and his return to "God", made his life better - his ulcer was healed, he got promoted in work, his "beloved" (he repeated this word several times) wife was cured from cancer, his got a house and a car.
While he was sharing the "words of God", I was (in my mind) counter-arguing everything. I just glanced at him to see how he looks and well judge his personality (in a shallow sense). Then, I didn't ever look at him (showing disinterest).
After his preaching, he distributed flyers to passengers. All the passengers who were seated ahead of me were given the flyers. When the "preacher" came near to my seat, he didn't even exert a little effort of extending the flyer to me.
That was quite a surprise. There are actually two things that came into my mind:
1. Do I look so disinterested that he didn't even take the effort of giving me a flyer?
2. Do I have devilish look that he didn't bother offering the flyer?
Nevertheless, (I guess) I am good at snubbing.
