It's the Kiss...
If you're looking for a cozy yet not so expensive place to dine, I highly recommend Chocolate Kiss. It got more than just cake and coffee – the food, the place, and yes, the music.
If you're planning to meet a client or a friend or anyone and you're somewhere in the Quezon City area, you can set it on lunch at Chocolate Kiss. Enjoy Filipino dishes like sinigang sa bayabas at affordable price of P150 (inclusive of a bottomless house iced tea). Add around P50 to get a slice of their sinful cakes. I'm pretty sure that you'd have great time discussing your business or even some personal stuff in the area.
Chocolate Kiss dining is even much better at night as various musicians will serenade you with truly good music. Last Thursday (June 22), it was a violin and piano duo playing 70's, 80's, Broadway, and even pop instrumental (some of the songs they played include: Waiting for a star to fall, seasons of love) It's uncontrollable that you'll find your self singing along . This time is not good for discussions though. I'd assure you that your conversations will be interrupted from time to time.
Chocolate Kiss is located at the 2nd floor of UP Bahay ng Alumni. It also has a branch in Roces Avenue near Books for Less and Papemelrotti. (I think they're closed on Sundays though)
Sango
Sango sounds like a blog (Xanga) or computer games (zango) Yet, it has nothing to do with computers or anything about technology. It’s simply about food.
If you feel like eating burger with the touch of the East, go to Sango. They've modified the typical American Burger. I guess there's something about the dressing that makes the burger tastes oriental (Wasabi maybe).
Oh and yes, how can I forget. Be reminded of Voltes V, Bioman & Shaider, (for my generation), Anime when dining at Sango because of the upbeat japanese music playing. You can also watch japanese shows (they got a flat screen TV) and learn that a cooking show can shoot in a toy store. ;-)
Take home an origami freebie from Mr. Kobayashi (the cook and owner I believe).
Just prepare! You may feel like you're in a Sumo Wrestling fight whenever visitors are coming or leaving the place -- parang may away sila kung mag-greet. But, the food is great! `
