Learn Something About Retailing

17th Retail Confab Opens in August:Offers Strategies to Combat Today’s Retail Challenges
We don’t need statistics to tell us that we are in tough times - shopping baskets, once filled to the brim, are lighter with only basic household goods; motorists and commuters complain of unending fuel price increases and fare hikes, some opting to use public transport systems to save on fuel. Hardest hit are the retailers, who by the very nature of their business, are the first to feel the economic pinch. There is higher input cost today for business operators. Now more than ever, there is tougher competition over who gets the share of the consumer wallet. In spite of the economic woes, the local retail industry is proactively dealing with the situation and is finding ways to overcome. So what can retailers do in these difficult times? The answer: LEARN NEW WAYS TO DO BUSINESS.
