Seeing a Sunflower makes me happy. (I'm not the someone who enjoys receiving flowers but I'm someone who's attracted to a garden of flowers.) Sunflower gives me a different kind of bliss. When I'm quite depressed or in pain, seeing a sunflower makes me smile. When I'm already happy, seeing a Sunflower elevates the happiness.
Through internet research, I found the following:
Sunflower: Happiness and Depression
A sunflower has a stigma. Depression has a stigma. The stigma is the receptor of the pollen. If it is not a positive stigma, the sunflower will not grow and become its beautiful flower. That is the same with humans. If the negative stigma on depression is continued and accepted as it is today, people will not seek treatment and become their full potential.
Sunflower: Symbolic Meaning
SUNFLOWER: Positive attributes: Balance of individuality, radiance, vitality.
Indications: Distorted sense of self, inflation or self effacement. Low self esteem or arrogance. Father relationship issues. Loss father at early age.
Arts and Sunflower
The Impressionist period of art is famous for its fascination with the sunflower, and this striking flower remains today a commonly photographed and painted icon of uncommon beauty.
