For some having a baby was an accident that eventually led to a family. Having a baby for other couples is a challenge. Some of them have to undergo medical treatment just to make sure they'll have a baby. Having a baby is never an easy thing for them. It's expensive and not to mention psychologically damaging.
Most couples consider having a baby as among the goals of marriage. I said most because I've encountered a couple who has a quite weird perspective on this. For them having a baby is not an option. And they hate babies. Weird.
I just don't understand why there are couples (married couples for that matter)who are not interested in having a baby. I mean it's acceptable if they have medical problems in begetting. But no, it's a choice. Oh well, it's their choice. Pakialam ko ba? Wala lang. Hindi ko lang maintindihan.
Isn't that marriage is about building a family? And part of building a family is to have kids?
Again, maybe this has something to do with my perspective of family. It's just weird. And sayang ang genes.
*******
Maybe my irritation is coupled by the fact that a good friend (who's in a relationship) is actually anxious about her situation. She has to undergo medication to make sure that when she gets married, she'll be able to procreate. I've witnessed how worried she is and I just don't understand why there are couples who hate babies. Oh well. Ganun ata talaga ang buhay.
