Spellbound

"Starry, starry night
Paint your pallet blue and grey
Look out on a summers day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul"

- Vincent,

Sorry for too much self-help post lately.

Everyone experiences a day full of irritation and angst. We are confronted with endless questioning and wondering. Sometimes you get answers; either good or bad (but still a rejoinder). But often you end up arriving at another question. It’s actually a mix of new troubles and old issues left unanswered. These things put us in helplessness and pain (and make us antsy, too).

We try to find diversion to treat us from this form of what we think (or feel) as irreparable situation. There’s a sense of emptiness that needs to be fulfilled. There’s a point of doubt that needs to be re-affirmed. We often find ourselves looking in a distant to eventually find that ‘something’ to satisfy our soul (which is one of the reasons why there are believers of a supernatural being I think; this deserves another post though).

On my home, thinking of all these troubles and questions, I found myself staring at the sky. It was glimmering with thousand (hmm, millions?) stars. It was as if these stars were talking to me. My heart was pounding in an inexplicable bliss. I couldn’t help but to smile; to smile a very big smile.

These glimmering stars reminded me of my passions, desires, and positive outlook of life. They are perfect metaphor for hope and wants. Perfect awakening that there’s always something good to look forward to in life (it’s just that darkness will always be there; that’s a fact).

As I close my eyes to take some rest, I’m turning off my consciousness thinking of that wonderful picture of the glimmering stars in the dark sky. I’m wishing that my subconscious will bring me to dream of a place full of bliss and love. So that when I wake up, I can continue smiling. And I wish that I can bring that happiness longer.

Have you seen the glimmering stars the way I did? I hope you were able to have glimpse of that wonderful image and be in the same mystifying bliss I’m experiencing now.

Here I am spellbound by the peculiar happiness caused by the glimmering stars. So I guess this is goodnight. :)

I don't speak French (is it actually French). I agree that van Gogh is a great painter.
