For sure, you'll have lots of left-overs (after Christmas) and even a number of food gifts like embutido. But you can do something to give a different taste to these food. I love to cook. Actually, I enjoy experimental cooking.
Since I miss cooking and I was in an experimental mode yesterday, here are some of my experimental dishes.
"Retokadong" Christmas Ham
Since I miss cooking and I was in an experimental mode yesterday, here are some of my experimental dishes.
"Retokadong" Christmas Ham
If there's one common gift that nearly every family receives, that's Christmas Ham. Sometimes, you can even get more than 2 boxes of ham.
Dahil masama ang lasa ng pagkakatimpla ng ham sa bahay (iyong pinakuluaan na sa pineapple juice), niretoke ko.
Ingredients:
Cubed Ham na hindi masarap
Pineapple Juice (1 cup)
Chopped Garlic (as much as you want)
Chopped Bell Pepper (2 pcs)
Sugar (2 1/2 tbsps)
Soy Sauce (2 tbsps)
Instructions:
Bring all Ingredients (except for ham) to a boil. When it's a bit syrupy already, put the cube ham. Simmer for a minute.
Embutido
It can taste different just with the sauce. So here's something I experimented out of what's available in the kitchen and fridge.
Ponkan Dip (dahil may nakita kong ponkan sa fridge)
Ingredients:
Sandwich Spread (3tbsps.)
Chopped Garlic (4cloves or if you're a garlic addict like me, put as much as you want)
Fresh Ponkan Juice (1/2 cup)
Soy Sauce (1 tbsp)
Instruction:
Obviously, just mix everything.
Voila. You have a yummy dip. Didn't expect that it'll taste good actually.
More tips on recycling food (batchoy!) after Christmas.
