Simpsonized

Any movie adaptation of a cartoon series may usually turn out as a longer version of an episode. But of course, it may also mean touching on more issues as well as exploring more about each character.

From a perspective of a non-Simpsons regular viewer, the movie is witty and hilarious. I enjoyed it much (truly Simpsonized) that I'm eager to download (I've to make time for this) the earlier seasons (wow, that’s quite a lot) and hopefully keep up with the coming season.

Scenes of note:

(1) It's hard to imagine any other cartoon movie to stage Green Day's final performance (singing The Simpson's theme "Da,da, da, da, da, da,da,da,da").

(2) Can you imagine your Dad singing and acting like this:

(3) It perfectly pictures the possible threats if your leader is someone who believes that reading (ergo, thinking) is not part of his job. “I was voted to lead, not to read.” Perfect!

(4) Homer’s epiphany scene is something to look forward to.

(5) And Lisa mimicking Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” (complete with props) made me laugh, too.

Note to Parents: Not all cartoons are for kids. Bring your kids to Ratatouille instead. I wonder why there were lots of kids (below 13) watching the movie with their parents.

BTW, here's a video clip of the original Spider-Man Cartoon theme song:
