Bringing Back the 60's Motown

I know it's quite uncanny for a 20-something to enjoy the music of the 60's. Songs like "Ain't no Mountain High Enough," "Baby Love," "Just my Imagination," and the like are good music for me. That's why I really enjoy listening to Wave 89.1's "Wave Back Wednesday's Hit from the Motown" (from 5:00-6:00pm).

It's good that I've recently discovered (though late discovery) the music of Amy Winehouse. She divulged that her recent album ("Back to Black") is so much inspired by the 50's-60's girl groups (e.g. The Supremes). Hence, listening to her reminds me of the 60's Motown. I love her "Rehab." The beat, instruments used, ah, and the second voice like "chuwariwaps" are just so 60's.

However, I've noticed that most parts of "Tears Dry On Their Own" sound much like the intro of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough".

Nonetheless, I still enjoy her music. She definitely rocks by bringing the black back. :)

Try to look for her performance on Letterman. The "chuwariwaps" come complete with choreography. I just love her porma: beehive hair, cocktail dress, and tattoos.

Searched for the performance. Sobrang complete performance nga talaga. Di ko na-imagine yun.

The get-up is 60's with a twist. Notice her eye make-up, tulad ng sa "The Supremes".
