Q: Do you find anything in common with MLM and some Religious Groups (and their members)?
A: They both promise a good life by saying that the only way for you to have a good life or be rich (for MLM) is to be one with them. And, members of MLM and Religious groups are both "makulit"They won't stop until they get you (and make you believe of course).

A close friend has been persuading me to join a Direct Selling-MLM group. The promises of the group are so grand. But reality check, you can never earn that much and take advantage of those privileges if you're not willing to sell (oversell) and recruit (ah, over recruit). Selling is fine with me, but to recruit is another thing.
I've attended several MLM seminars with my Mom. She had a hard time saying no to her friends thus constrained to attend these gatherings. And it looks like I'm also constrained to say yes to my friend, pay her 3k, get the beauty products, and that's it. She cannot count on me when it comes to selling beauty products and recruiting people. I can recruit people for other purpose but not bringing them to MLM (or even to a religious group) .
There's no such thing as easy money unless if you won millions in the Lottery. Sidelines that utilize skills are much welcome. I'm quite doubtful about MLMs.
One bad thing about MLM is making other people (especially close friends) be constrained to say Yes. Balatuan mo na lang ako pag mayaman ka na sa MLM na iyan. :P

I just lecture them about the inherent instability of multi-level system. Not to mention the unfairness of living off membership fees of people under you.
Yes, it's very unfair. If you'll look at how they can actually earn (for most MLM companies),it's with the number of people they've recruited more than the sales. Okay lang naman sana iyong magtinda-tinda ka lang, pero iyong obligado ka na magrecruit to avail of certain promos sa mga products at iyong kumita ka ng dagdag eh iba na. I think another not-so-good thing of trusting MLM much is the idea of living a stable job and pursuing a career in MLM. Marami kasing nag-eend up sa ganito.
