Filipinos are known for being passionate about music. In fact, the Karaoke System was invented by a Filipino – Mr. Roberto del Rosario. Aside from that, any party or event wouldn’t be complete without any singing. For smaller and more informal parties, Magic Sings or “5-peso slot” Videoke Machines are sure hit. Karaoke makes the party more interesting and exciting.
A cousin introduced me to www.singshot.com. I think this website is very apt for Filipinos.
At SingShot, you can access thousands of songs in sing-along format. But the more interesting thing about Sing Shot is the “record your song” feature. The website allows you to share your recording to a network of people. There are also talent contests where you can join. Listeners may also comment on your recordings and even vote for your recordings (if you want to have the highest vote for a particular song recording).
If you’re not interested to record your voice and share it to other people, the website is a good alternative to the quite pricey Magic Sings. It’s a good venue for people who want to practice some songs (for competition purposes) or for those who are simply addicted to sing-along.
In order for you to access all these feature of the website, you have to register though. Anyway, you can use pseudonym. Plus, it’s not a prerequisite to post pictures and to completely fill out the profile page.
There are other features of the website that I haven’t explored yet. Well, I’m satisfied with simply singing-along.
P. S.
I am currently addicted to singing “Alone” by Heart.
Good luck sa mga kapit-bahay. :))
