Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony

When I read a review on Inquirer about Artemis Fowl back July 2003 (If I remember it correctly), I instantly got interested about the book. Now, I’ve become a follower of Artemis Fowl Book Series. I really like action/fairy stories. Yet, Artemis Fowl is really a fairy story with a twist.

Artemis Fowl is not the usual fairy tale where fairies use their magic wands and magic powers to fight the perpetrator. Here, fairies are powerful because of their high-tech gadgets and their intelligence.

Furthermore, the human lead-character, Artemis Fowl II, is an extra-ordinary kid. He is a criminal at the age of 13. He thinks older for he’s age. He’s very genius (as in). He knows how to win a game, surpass a trick, and even deceive his enemies.

These are just few elements that you couldn’t find in a typical fairy tale. There’s so much action, thrills, and cleverness in the book.

The 5th installment is out – The Lost Colony. (Haven't bought a copy yet as I'm still waiting for a paperback). I wonder what happened to the buzz that there’ll be a movie Adaptation of this book. It’s more than 2 years already since I got that info. I searched the net but it seems that people are also “lost” if the movie pushes through.

Oh no, not a Lost Movie adaptation of Artemis Fowl? No, no, no...
